Guy Ritchie is already back with a new action comedy, a proposal that seems to blend from his two previous films: “The Gentlemen” and “An Angry Man”. Worn by Jason Statham, “Operation Fortune: Ruse of War” does not yet have a release date.
Guy Ritchie: the little English genius is back
Decidedly, at this moment, Guy Ritchie is very productive. The filmmaker, to whom we owe emblematic works such as Snatch, Sherlock holmes and more recently The Gentlemen, returns with a new action and gangster comedy: Operation Fortune – ruse of war. With no release date yet, the feature film appears to be a delicious mix of his two previous films: The Gentlemen and An angry man. Already, on the casting side, the filmmaker offers an interesting mashup of his two previous productions. Operation Fortune thus brings together on one side Hugh Grant and Eddie Marsan, who were on the bill of The Gentlemen and on the other side Jason Statham and Josh Hartnett, who performed in An angry man. The rest of the cast includes Cary Elwes and Aubrey Plaza.
Operation Fortune mark it fifth collaboration between Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham after Scams, crimes and botany, Snatch, Revolver and An angry man. This new story tells the mission of an MI6 agent recruited by an international alliance to prevent the commercial transaction of a particularly dangerous new weapon.
A first trailer for Operation Fortune
Produced by STX Entertainment and Miramax Film, the screenplay for Operation Fortune has been written by the duo Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, who have already dealt in the past with the scenarios of An angry man, The Gentlemen and Sherlock holmes. STX Entertainment has just unveiled the very first trailer for the feature film. Unsurprisingly, the film fits perfectly in the style of Guy Ritchie. The spectators thus rediscover the tone, humor and verve of the filmmaker. The latter is in his shoes to offer us an action comedy that promises to be explosive and offbeat. We leave you with these images, waiting for a release date soon.
