News of the live-action adaptation of the manga “One Piece”, whose Netflix platform has just unveiled the logo and the title of the first episode.
We will have to wait many more months before seeing the One Piece live-action series land on Netflix. However, the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga is progressing, as the platform confirmed this afternoon with the revelation of the official logo of the series (see above), but also of the title from the very first episode, written by Matt Owens (Luke Cage) and Steven Maeda (Helix).
A title which obviously hides a wink to the address of the most unconditional fans of the work; “Romance Dawn” is none other than the name of the short story that served as a prototype for the manga One piece. After a first version published in the magazine Summer Special, a second is born in the Weekly Shonen Jump of September 23, 1996 (the latter appears elsewhere in the anthology Wanted published in France by Glénat).
Best-selling manga of all time, One piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young adventurer who dreams of becoming the pirate king. Endowed with elastic powers, obtained after eating a devil fruit, Luffy can count on the support of his crew, trained according to his adventures, in his quest.
For now, the cast of the series has not yet been revealed. But no doubt that new information will be communicated to us shortly, the end of the writing of the first season suggesting that the shooting should not be long in starting, if it has not already started in the biggest secrets…
Remember that volume 99 of the manga One piece will be released in France on September 15th.
