Through a report by the Japanese portal Kougyou Tsuushin became today knownthat the anime film »One Piece Film: Red« has already grossed 2.254 billion yen (about 16.3 million euros) at the Japanese box office in its first weekend.
Over 1.5 million tickets sold
The new evening filler, which has been on show in Japanese cinemas since August 6, 2022, was able to sell around 1.58 million tickets in the first two days, which means that the film currently takes first place in the Japanese box office.
One Piece Film: Red was produced at Toei Animation Studio under the direction of director Gorou Taniguchi (Planetes). The film is expected to be shown in cinemas in Germany and Austria from October 13, 2022 with German and Japanese soundtrack.
The anime adaptation of “One Piece” has been broadcast on Japanese television since October 1999 and now includes over 1000 episodes. Crunchyroll shows the series with German subtitles in simulcast every Sunday, while KAZÉ Anime releases it on DVD and Blu-ray.
