The upcoming “Star Wars” series will center on the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Scheduled on Disney +, the program is finally unveiled with a first trailer posted online.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is back
It has been more than two years since the Disney+ platform was launched (November 12, 2019). During all this time, it is above all the Marvel series that has been in the spotlight. On the brand side, Star Wars there was “only” The Mandalorian in live series, then lately The Boba Fett Book. So we are eagerly awaiting the sequel. Especially since in the upcoming programming of the streaming service, there will be a series centered on Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The show is eagerly awaited since it allows Ewan McGregor to put on the Jedi outfit again after having played him in The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), and Revenge of the Sith (2005).
On the program of the series
Long-awaited, the first trailer for the series has finally been unveiled (in one article). And the least we can say is that the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan should amaze us! With music in the background that fans of Star Wars knowing well, we discover here the Jedi on Tattooine observing Luke in the distance.
In effect, Obi-Wan Kenobi will make it possible to recount events between Revenge of the Sith and A new hope (1977). Luke Skywalker will still be very young there, Owen Lars who took him in is once again played by Joel Edgerton, and Darth Vader will continue to pursue his former Master, and the Jedi in general.
The latter does not yet appear on these images, but his breathing is heard. The confrontation between these two mythical figures of Star Wars will be eagerly awaited. But also with the inquisitors. The latter did not appear in the films but in derivative works (in particular the game Fallen Order). They are Force-sensitive soldiers tasked with taking down the Jedi who survived Order 66. Powerful characters who should give Obi-Wan a hard time, as seen in the trailer- announcement..
Several concept arts had been unveiled before this trailer (at the end of 2021), and then showed an upcoming fight between Vader and Obi-Wan, as well as the presence of an inquisitor. It promises!
Series Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected on May 25 on Disney+.
