We are now a month away from the release of the Star Wars “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series. In addition to the return of Ewan McGregor in the skin of the famous Jedi, the actor Hayden Christensen will also return in the role of Darth Vader. He finally spoke about this comeback.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: the fans are impatient
Expected May 27 on Disney+, the series Obi-Wan Kenobi has already been talked about a lot. Created by Hossein Amini and Joby Harold, this new series of Star Wars will bring back the comedian Ewan McGregor as the famous Obi-Wan Kenobi. 10 years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the Jedi is currently on Tatooine where he watches over young Luke Skywalker. But Darth Vader is still there, and his threat hangs over his former master’s head. The Sith Lord decides to send a detachment of Inquisitors in search of Kenobi.

In addition to the return of Ewan McGregor, the show will allow other comebacks. Indeed, Joel Edgerton will take over the role of Uncle Owen, and above all, Hayden Christensen returns in Darth Vader’s armor. The latter has also recently expressed on this series, in which he is very happy to participate.
Hayden Christensen comes out of his silence
If Hayden Christensen gains worldwide popularity after having played Anakin Skywalker in the prequel Star Wars by George Lucas the rest of his career turns out to be a little more complicated. Apart from jumper in 2008, the actor meets with practically no critical or popular success. He turns in series B and Direct To Video as Takers with Idris Elba, Crusades with Nicolas Cage, American heist alongside Adrien Brody, Little Italy in duet with Emma Roberts, or even The Last Man with Harvey Keitel. In short, he fails to regain the excellence of the saga of Star Wars.

But his return to Obi-Wan Kenobi will perhaps open doors for him and bring him a new consideration in the eyes of Hollywood and the public. 17 years later Revenge of the SithHayden Christensen says to himself, at the microphone of Entertainment Weekly, honored to resume the costume of his former character :
Well, without going into too much detail, it was amazing. It’s a great honor and it was especially a lot of excitement because I spent a lot of time with this character. I feel like I know him. Eventually, coming back to it felt very natural to me in many ways. I was very excited to play Darth Vader at this point in the timeline. Because I had the impression that it was the logical continuation of the journey with the character. And that was very meaningful to me.
The comedian went on to claim that it was a real pleasure for him but also for the whole team to return to this galaxy far, far away :
Everyone is really happy to be there. You feel that energy, and it’s something really special. I can tell you that the first time I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again was a very special moment for me. I will remember it for a very, very long time.
See you on May 27 to find Hayden Christensen in the skin of Darth Vader.
