A wide variety of tasks have to be fulfilled in home cinema today. In addition to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and other streaming services, gaming is also a welcome guest in the living room. Thanks to Nvidia Shield TV, you can now combine both in one device and even save a lot of money. Because MediaMarkt has the streaming box on offer right now.
How good is the offer? The Nvidia Shield TV normally costs around €160. In the last few months, the streaming device has been on sale again and again. The high-quality stick now costs €111 – that’s a new low price.

Nvidia comes from the gaming sector and is clearly addressing this target group with the Nvidia Shield TV. Home cinema fans will also get their money’s worth with the stick. Even the feel makes a good impressioneven if the design takes some getting used to.
Since the connections are on the sides, you can only connect the streaming box to the television when it is lying down. Technically, however, there are no problems, because the connection to the triangular remote control is via Bluetooth. Practical: If you lift the remote control, the buttons automatically start to light up. This is especially helpful in dark rooms.
The same processor that is used in the Nintendo Switch works in the streaming box. The eight gigabytes of storage space can be expanded using a micro SD card. Android 11 is used as the operating system and ensures fast navigation in the clear menu. Almost all popular streaming apps are supported – only WOW and Apple TV+ are missing. “House Of The Dragon” fans should think twice about buying it.
But now to the most important criterion of a streaming device: Nvidia Shield TV delivers a very good picture thanks to 4K HDR support and strong upscaling for HD content. Of course, HDR10 and Dolby Vision are also on board. All important audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and even DTS:X also run on the streaming box.
Another showpiece of the Nvidia Shield TV is its proprietary GeForce Now service, which is priced at €5.49 per month. This gives you access to numerous video games and you can even play yours Steam- and Epic Games-Connect the library to the streaming box.
The games are then accessed via Nvidia’s cloud service, eliminating the need for a separate download. The right controller currently costs €70.
