According to Variety, Apple has given the green light to “Constellations,” a psychological thriller series starring Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks. In “Constellation,” Rapace plays Jo, a woman who returns to Earth after a disaster in space and discovers that important parts of her life seem to be missing.
The series will also reveal the truth about a space adventure, the exploration of the dark limits of human psychology, and the secret history of a woman’s space travel. The character will embark on a desperate quest to get back everything he has lost.
Apple has placed an eight-episode order for the series. Peter Harness serves as writer and executive producer on the series. Michelle MacLaren will direct the first two episodes and executive produce. MacLaren is also directing the upcoming Apple drama “Shining Girls” and also directing an episode of “The Morning Show.” She had previously worked with Banks on both “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”. MacLaren is executive producing through MacLaren Entertainment with Rebecca Hobbs and associate producer Jahan Lopes.
Rapace is best known for the Swedish film trilogy “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Sticks A Beehive”. She has also acted in movies like “Prometheus”, “Child 44” and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”. “Constellation” marks the first series Banks has lined up considering the upcoming ending of “Better Call Saul,” reprising his role as Mike Ehrmantraut in “Breaking Bad.”
Banks earned one Emmy nomination for playing the character in “Breaking Bad” and four more for “Better Call Saul.” Banks is also known for her work in movies like “Mudbound” and for the TV series “Wiseguy”. This series means the two actors will meet for the first time, and filming will begin soon.
