“Spider-Man: No Way Home”, the new adventure of the famous Peter Parker, prances in first place of the world box office and has just passed a very strong symbolic milestone!
Spider-Man No Way Home : a first for the hero
The third film worn by Tom Holland can boast of dust off the franchise. Thereby, Spider-Man: No Way Home is part of the first part of the saga in which the secret identity of the young hero is revealed ! The friendly neighborhood spider saw his face broadcast all over the world at the end of the previous movie. No more hiding or leading a double life for the high school student … Peter must then take his responsibilities and assume his superhero status.
Only, when he asks a certain Doctor Strange for help, the young man has no idea what turn his life is about to take.
Jon Watts, the director of the first two opus of the trilogy, is still at the helm for this new feature film. At the writing of the latter, Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers, both also present since Homecoming. As the saying goes, Never change a winning team ! The film can also boast of a five star casting comprising Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Zendaya, Willem Dafoe and Benedict Cumberbatch – to name a few.
A global box
It’s official, the Marvel team’s feature film becomes the first film to win a billion of dollars since the start of the global pandemic that we are currently experiencing. Announced by the specialist firm Exhibitor Relationships, this record was achieved over the Christmas weekend. In details, Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed $ 467.3 million in North America and $ 587 million in other countries. Barely ten days after its theatrical release, the film therefore exceeds the billion dollars! But how far will he go? The question remains unresolved!
Note that since its arrival in theaters, the film has crushed all competition – and yet not the least! In America, the remake of West Side Story signed Steven Spielberg as well as Nightmare alley, the new film by Guillermo del Toro, are far from success from the third installment of Watts’ trilogy.
And you, did you go to see Spider-Man: No Way Home ? If yes, do you think the film deserves such a success ?
