In “Sand And Stones,” Nicolas Cage plays a man named Paul who has retired to a lonely farm in a post-apocalyptic world with his twin sons Thomas and Joseph. Dangerous creatures roam here after sunset, devouring anything that gets in their way.
When a minor misstep by Thomas puts the monsters on their trail, the family of three hatches a desperate plan to survive. A relentless race against time begins…
“Sand And Stones” also makes us so curious because Benjamin Brewer, a man who is in charge of the visual effects on the crazy multiverse hit “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, takes a seat on the director’s chair and is an important part of the team behind you which was not only the best film of the year for us. His new directorial work also brings him together with Nicolas Cage for the second time, with whom he already shot the cop thriller “The Trust” in 2016. Meanwhile, the screenplay comes from Mike Nilon, co-author of the Jason Momoa actioner “Braven” and multiple production partner of Cage for several years.
When “Sand And Stones” will be released is still unclear. At the upcoming American Film Market, the makers are now looking for a suitable distribution partner in order to start shooting in November 2022. A release at the end of 2023 would therefore be quite conceivable.
