Returning as Angela Bassett, the sequel will also introduce Namor (Tenoch Huerta) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For the final movie of the fourth phase, Marvel is running a massive marketing campaign. The first trailer released at Comic-Con focused on the emotional story of Wakanda, grieving the loss of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), before coming into conflict with Namor, who is confirmed to be a mutant. One of the biggest questions about the movie was who would be the next Black Panther. The first trailer featured the new skin, but didn’t provide a full look at the skin or reveal who’s underneath the vibranium skin.
The new trailer, which has been released, focuses on the war between Marvel’s version of Atlantis, Talocan and Wakanda, and ends with the person wearing the new Black Panther costume making a superhero landing. While it’s not clear who the new Black Panther will be, it seems possible for Shuri to take over.
Shuri, one of the main focuses of the trailer, will be at the center of the narrative of the sequel. It makes sense for Marvel to elevate her character even further by making Shuri the new Black Panther of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, it is clearly evident that the person wearing the costume is a woman. On the other hand, Nakia might be the right name for this job…
