Netflix has released the full trailer for ‘Matilda the Musical’.

“Matilda the Musical” chronicles the adventures of a young genius named Matilda, who has hidden talents and is mistreated by her ignorant parents. Matilda, the daughter of the Wormwood family, who makes a living by cheating, has to deal with her bad parents as well as the scary school principal at school. Matilda begins to question the authority figures at school and starts a small revolution with her friends. Meanwhile, she discovers a new ability that has helped her stand up to the scary adults in her life: telekinesis.
The main character of the movie, Matilda, will be played by Alisha Weir, while the evil and cruel school principal will be played by veteran actress Emma Thompson. Lashana Lynch will appear in front of the audience with the character of Miss Honey, her kind-hearted teacher who encourages Matilda.
The musical Matilda, which has been staged in London since 2011, was successfully staged on Broadway between 2013 and 2017. Dennis Kelly wrote the script for the Netflix adaptation. Matthew Warchus sits in the director’s chair. The film will also feature original soundtracks and songs composed by Tim Minchin.
