On the official Twitter account The anime adaptation of »Sword Art Online« today released a new trailer for the second »Progressive« film releasedwhich you can find below.
Japanese theatrical release in September 2022
The second film, titled Sword Art Online Progressive The Movie: Scherzo of Deep Night (Jap.: Kuraki Yuuyami no Scherz), like the first film, will be directed by Ayako Kouno at the A-1 Pictures studio produced. Character design is again by Kento Toya, who also serves as Chief Animation Director, while Yuki Kajiura (»Demon Slayer«) composed the music.
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu again star as Kirito and Asuna. Shiori Izawa (Nanachi in “Made in Abyss”) joins the cast as Argo “The Rat”. The Japanese cinema premiere is scheduled for September 10, 2022.
The first progressive film, Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of the Starless Night, opens in Japan on October 30, 2021. A date for Germany and Austria is still open. All previous anime works in the Sword Art Online series are available from peppermint anime.

Plot:
For two months they have been trapped in the game of death whose name is Sword Art Online. Kirito and Asuna continue their fight at the top. The fifth level of Aincrad is a maze-like ruin and the two dare to plunder it for the treasures it contains.
After returning to the fourth level, it’s time to do some quests on behalf of the elf lord Yofilis – but this is where Asuna’s dissatisfaction begins, because in the process they have to face their very last favorite monster…
