Jensen Ackles should be familiar to most of his fans from “Supernatural” be known, but he can currently be seen in another major series: In the bloody and crazy superhero satire “The Boys’ on Amazon Prime Video, he plays a ‘hero’ named Soldier Boy, a parody of Marvel’s Captain America. With his physical presence and raspy voice, Ackles is made for it – hence “The BoysUnsurprisingly, neither was his first taste of superheroism.
Ackles has appeared in several episodes of the Superman series “Smallville” and was in the animated films “Batman: Under The Red Hood” (as Red Hood) and “Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 1” and “Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 2” (as Batman). and he is currently working on another appearance as the Dark Knight.
The fact that Ackles is working on another DC project after “The Long Halloween” (by the way with Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti) has already been heard on one or two occasions. So far, however, it has been unclear which role it is exactly. Ackles let the cat out of the bag when he appeared on Seth Myers’ late-night show:
The corresponding excerpt can be found in the video from minute 1:46. Ackles said in the video that he stood in a studio for three and a half hours yesterday and recorded something with his Batman voice.
Of course, the question remains as to which project it is, which is exactly where Ackles makes his comeback as the Dark Knight. Many of the best-known Batman comics have now been adapted into animated films, and there is no direct sequel to The Long Halloween that Ackles could play Batman again.
However, the suspicion is obvious that it is another film from the new DC animated film universe, which so far consists of Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice Society: World War II, and the two The Long Halloween films. After all, other speakers can also be heard in the same roles.
However, since Ackles has already started shooting for the new animated film, it shouldn’t be too long before the project (and the full cast) are revealed and the film is released.
