


On the Twitter account the anime adaptation of »Sword Art Online« was released today announcedthat the second »Progressive« film will be shown in Japanese cinemas after a postponement from October 22, 2022. You can find a new visual later in this article.
Delays in production
The film was scheduled to premiere on September 10, 2022 in Japanese cinemas, but had to be postponed due to production delays caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Sword Art Online Progressive The Movie: Scherzo of Deep Night is being produced by Ayako Kouno at Studio A-1 Pictures. Kento Toya (»Sword Art Online: Alicization«) is responsible for the design of the characters, while Yuki Kajiura (»Demon Slayer«) composed the music.
The first »Progressive« film, »Sword Art Online Progressive The Movie: Aria of the Starless Night«, started in Japan on October 30, 2021 and has not yet had a German date. All previous anime works in the »Sword Art Online« series are available from peppermint anime.

Plot:
For two months they have been trapped in the game of death whose name is Sword Art Online. Kirito and Asuna continue their fight at the top. The fifth level of Aincrad is a maze-like ruin and the two dare to plunder it for the treasures it contains.
After returning to the fourth level, it’s time to do some quests on behalf of the elf lord Yofilis – but this is where Asuna’s dissatisfaction begins, because in the process they have to face their very last favorite monster…
