Like every Sunday, we’re bringing you an overview of the hottest Netflix releases of the coming week, broken down by day of the week. But this time there is not too much to report. Because in the next seven days, fewer interesting films and series will start on the streaming service than ever before. Of course, we would like to draw your attention to the few highlights.
Starts on Monday “Spirit Rangers”, an animated series for children about three siblings who can transform into magical animals. Otherwise, we are not aware of any Netflix reboots on that day.
You’ll only be happy on Tuesday if you think wolves are cool or want to see dysfunctional marriages. This is what the documentary series awaits you “The Island of the Coast Wolves”the comedy series “The Cage” about a marriage counselor who can’t even handle his relationship with his own wife, and the RomCom “The Borrowed Wife” about a guy who hires an actress to pose as his partner so he doesn’t get erased from his mother’s will.
In the series “Belascoarán, private detective” is about a man who quits his job to become a professional crime solver in Mexico City in the 1970s. There is nothing more to see on Wednesday.
On Thursday it will be really exciting for the first time. With “The Watcher’ is the start of the new series from ‘Dahmer’ co-creator Ryan Murphy. But to reduce the six-time Emmy winner to the current Netflix mega-hit is a bit short-sighted. After all, he is one of the most respected series producers around and, together with his collaborator Brad Falchuk, has also created popular hits and critics’ favorites such as “Glee”, “American Horror Story” and “Pose”.
“The Watcher”, like “Dahmer”, is based on a true story: A married couple moves into their dream house in an idyllic suburb, but is then terrorized by an anonymous observer.
In addition, the sci-fi horror anime starts on Thursday “Exception”season 2 of the animated series “Dead End: Paranormal Park” and “The Playlist”a series that retells the origins of the popular music streaming service Spotify.
In “Stranger Things’ Priah Ferguson may only play a very small supporting role as Lucas Sinclair’s sister Erica, but with her bold demeanor she pulls the action over and over again. Now Netflix is giving her her own scary adventure alongside Marlon Wayans (“Scary Movie”). In The Curse Of The Bridge Hollow, all the fancy Halloween decorations in the neighborhood come to life and the two must defend themselves against skeletons, zombies and horror clowns while trying to stop the ghost that caused it all.
On Friday there will also be some other new features, for example the documentation “Dear Future Children”. Start on the series front “For the fighters, for the crazy ones” and the second season of “Mismatched”.
We don’t expect any significant restarts on Netflix this weekend. So how about a modern classic of action cinema, which our author Lars-Christian Daniels recently presented in detail?
