Marvel fans really haven’t had it easy over the past few years. Because even if there was never a lack of new supplies, there were always some factors that had a bad aftertaste: In addition to the question of whether this film or series is actually part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or not, criticism many also the fact that the Marvel adventures were nowhere to be streamed in their entirety – but that is exactly what has been changing bit by bit since the start of Disney +. And today a big step towards completion is being taken.
With the series “Daredevil”, “The Punisher”, “Jessica Jones”, “Luke Cage”, “Iron Fist” and “The Defenders” previously released via Netflix, six new Marvel series are now available on Disney+. And if you take it very seriously, there is even a seventh: After all, “Baymax!” is also based on a Marvel character who, as part of the “Big Hero 6”, ensures law and order.

This means that starting today, your Disney Plus subscription gives you access to a whopping 15 (!) more seasons of hard-hitting Marvel action, plus the inaugural season of a brand new animated series! So if you don’t know the series yet because you may not have Netflix and were just waiting for them to land on Disney’s in-house platform: Your weekend is probably secured! And the next one too, and the one after that…
While at the latest after “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness” it is clear that there are a wide variety of universes within the MCU and the debate about the affiliation of the “Netflix series” should therefore be more or less off the table, this of course also opens the doors for other pre- MCU adventures – and there’s a whole lot of that coming to the platform in the coming weeks.
From July 1, 2022, the two “Amazing Spider-Man” films and “Venom” will be available on Disney+. And just a week after fans of Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker incarnation are served to those who prefer Tobey Maguire and/or Tom Holland:
Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy and “Spider-Man: Homecoming” will follow on July 8th. This also means that “Far From Home” and “No Way Home” are still a long time coming. But it is probably only a matter of time before these will follow. As a consolation, there will also be the wonderfully creative, thrilling and incredibly groovy animated film “Spider-Man: A New Universe” from July 8th – and for many fans it is considered the best Spidey film ever!
