He is one of the most distinctive and popular names in genre cinema: John Carpenter. Not least thanks to his slasher milestone “Halloween”, his name often shines on the screens of die-hard genre fans in the horror month of October. Because even apart from Michael Myers’ orgy, you can get in the right mood with many Carpenter films. For example with his legendary horror classics “The Princes of Darkness” and “The Fog” or with his sci-fi action “You Live”, which also has many horror elements.
And even the dystopian cult hit “The Rattlesnake” feels made for long October movie nights thanks to its dirty-scary atmosphere. Appropriately, those four films are now appearing as a new set: The John Carpenter Collection, available exclusively on Amazon, will be released on October 13th with the four Carpenter classics in 4K!

Important: All four films are included in the set in their uncut form. But you have to largely do without bonus material in the “John Carpenter Collection” – only “The Rattlesnake” comes with extras, namely in the form of four audio comments.
In “The Princes of Darkness” A rapid succession of horrifying natural disasters ensues, fueling increasing fears that Satan’s return is imminent. So a priest (Donald Pleasence) must try to banish the lord of darkness in a glass shrine in a ruined church.

At first he hopes to be able to defend himself. But the extraterrestrials are everywhere and with a gigantic conspiracy they ensure that the population becomes consumption-driven and willing…
In “the fog Odd events and a dense, eerie fog ruin the city of Antonio Bay’s 100-year celebrations. Apparently, this is related to a fateful moment in the history of the place: Captain Blake (Rob Bottin) once wanted to found a leper colony there. But then he was sent deliberately misleading lighthouse signals so that the ship and the entire crew sank into the sea. Will the belated, supernatural revenge now take place?
In the action-packed sci-fi thriller “The rattlesnake” we see another Manhattan that has been converted into a gigantic high-security prison. When Air Force One crashes there, the US President and the highly explosive cargo urgently need to be protected. So the police chief (Lee Van Cleef) gives inmate Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) the job of protecting the President from the local psychopaths. In exchange, Snake waves parole…
