New in home cinema: Bloodthirsty creatures and completely insane characters collide in this horror thriller
Pierrot LeFou

A slimeball of a man, a devout Mexican woman, a snooty lady and her crosshead daughter are in a van, driving through Spain. Sounds like a joke, but it’s the starting point for a new indie horror film: “The Passenger”, a Clash of body horror, sci-fi, thriller elements and horror comedy.

Last autumn, the film was shown at the famous Sitges Film Festival, which celebrates horror cinema and offbeat genre goods year after year. The Pierrot Le Fou label will release “The Passenger” in German home cinema in a few weeks – uncut in the limited Mediabook including DVD and Blu-ray. Pre-orders are already possible.

» “The Passenger” Limited Mediabook on Amazon*

The expected release date of The Passenger mediabook is September 30, 2022.

This is not how the participants imagined it: Different reasons led four people (Ramiro Blas, Cecilia Suárez, Paula Gallego and Cristina Alcázar) to go on a trip to Spain together. In a smelly van. The atmosphere is already tense – and then the sleazy driver accidentally runs over a mysterious woman in the middle of the night. The quartet then decides to take the wanderer to the hospital, but then supernatural things get in the way of the desperate…

The film was staged was acclaimed by genre fan audiences at the Sitges Festival for its creature and gore effects and humor was, by the directing team Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez.
