Alan Wake 2 is revealed again through new images for the anniversary of the license. The development is going well, but bad news has also been announced.
Fans were starting to lose hope, and finally, Alan Wake 2 was made official in December 2021 during The Game Awards. For the 12th anniversary of the series, Remedy Entertainment has revealed new images as well as information on the next communication of the game.
Alan Wake 2, some concept arts while waiting for better
Captured by the Nibel tweets, these new shots of Alan Wake 2 are concept art. And therefore, do not necessarily reflect in-game passages of what we will have at the exit. It nevertheless gives an idea of the direction with scenes that may become gameplay sequences.
Visible in our gallery, the images reveal a dark atmosphere with environments immersed in darkness. The protagonist evolves in a dimly lit street and on a roof. The two other illustrations of Alan Wake 2 are that of a forest, one of the locations of the first game, and a very creepy old lady knitting.
In the announcement, we could read this:
We all start a story with hopes and expectations, looking for an answer. Sometimes it would be better to live with that hope, never finding the story. It’s not the story you want it to be. This story will eat you alive. This story is a monster. And monsters have many faces.
Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment, added at the time “we know it will be a very scary experience“. And these concept arts don’t seem to betray that statement.
A little patience with fresh news
So when is the gameplay? Patience because ultimately, we will have nothing new this summer. The studio indeed prefers to take its time to strike a blow and leave good impressions of entry.
According to Sam Lake, the game will be the most beautiful ever created by Remedy. On the casting side, Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta will return for a second round.
Alan Wake 2 will be available in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
