Although Liam Neeson announced earlier this year that he no longer wants to make action films in the future, films in which the nearly 70-year-old Irishman lets his fists fly are of course still appearing. This also applies to “Blacklight”, which is available exclusively with an Amazon Prime Video subscription from today. What is interesting about the film is that the plot is sometimes reminiscent of the film that made Neeson one of THE action stars of the present: “96 Hours”.
In it, Liam Neeson slipped into the role of former secret agent Bryan Mills, who heads to the French capital of Paris to rescue his daughter from an Albanian human trafficking ring. Meanwhile, Neeson must protect not only his daughter but also his granddaughter in “Blacklight” by Mark Williams (“Honest Thief”). Starting today, you can find out on Prime Video whether the whole thing comes close to the remarkable ruthlessness of a “96 Hours” aka “Taken”.

When Travis uncovers the truth, he enlists the help of journalist Mira Jones (Emmy Raver-Lampman). But his past and his present collide more and more when not only his daughter but also his granddaughter is threatened. Now Travis, who has some very special skills, must do whatever it takes to protect his loved ones. This is the only way he seems to have a chance to find his personal peace…
