The Guilty (Friday October 1): Remake of the eponymous Danish film released in 2018, this breathtaking thriller features Jake Gyllenhaal as headliner. He camps a police inspector relegated to the emergency call center, who tries to save an interlocutor over a tough day full of revelations and settling of scores. A closed-door staged by Antoine Fuqua (Equalizer, Training Day) where the actor is almost everywhere. The opportunity for him to deliver an impressive and emotional performance.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1st
MAID: Fleeing an abusive relationship, a young mother becomes a housekeeper and fights to provide for her daughter, in the hope of a better future. This series inspired by the memories of Stéphanie Land is carried by a nice cast made up in particular of Andie MacDowell, Margaret Qualley, Billy Burke and Nick Robinson.
Swallow: Lagos, Nigeria, 1980s. Under multiple pressures, Tolani embarks on drug trafficking with a resourceful friend. A decision fraught with consequences. A drama which promises to be poignant and which takes us to the hell of the cartels in Africa.
Forever Rich: A rising rap star loses all control when a humiliating video goes viral and forces him to fight for his reputation over a never-ending night. A comedy worn in particular by Jonas Smulders, discovered in 2015 in Boys.
The Seven Deadly Sins – Cursed by Light: In this animated derivative of the manga of the same name, Meliodas and his friends return to service when recent peace is threatened by a powerful magical alliance that could destroy everything in its path.
Samba (catalog): This social satire signed by the Toledano / Nakache duo is an adaptation of the novel “Samba for France” by Delphine Coulin (2011). Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim or Izïa Higelin (nominated for the Cesar for this role) are the headliners.
Cursed (catalog): Wes Craven (Scream) attacks the myth of the werewolf in this film released in 2003. To see and forget immediately.
It is too good (catalog): Netflix released the remake a few weeks ago, it’s time to (re) discover the original! The opportunity to see Paul Walker on screen again …
Love and other drugs (catalog): Always more Jake Gyllenhaal with romcom where he gives the reply to Anne Hathaway.
The foam of days (catalog): The poetic Michel Gondry adapts Boris Vian’s work to the screen and directs Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou, more endearing than ever. Let yourself be lulled by the sets of the film, awarded a César in 2014.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2
Scissor Seven (season 3): Good news for fans of this manga who were impatiently awaiting the continuation of the adventures of Seven. After leaving Chicken Island, our hero makes a few detours and finds himself in Xuanwu, where a price is put on his head.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3
Upcoming Summer: When a little lie leads to unintended consequences, Chen Chen and Zheng Yuxing form a deep friendship and face the harsh realities of the adult world. A 1.55 hour film that joins the already long list of Korean dramas available on Netflix.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 4
On My Block (season 4): End clap for one of Netflix’s best series. Two years after their separation, Ruby, Jamal, Monse and Cesar will say their goodbyes. But before that, they’ll have to face new threats … and decide whether their friendship is ultimately take or leave!
WEDNESDAY 6 OCTOBER
In the name of revenge (season 1): In this Mexican miniseries, five women with the same birthmark decide to shed light on their past and discover a tragic web of lies worked out by a powerful politician.
Killer Game: Makani and his friends from Osborne High School do everything to identify and stop a masked killer who prey on students by revealing their innermost secrets. A horror movie to keep warm for Halloween …
