With “My Son” Christian Carion will propose the remake of his own film, “My Boy”, released in 2017 with Guillaume Canet and Mélanie Laurent. James McAvoy and Claire Foy return to their roles as parents stricken by the kidnapping of their child. Check out the trailer.
My Son, English version of My boy
In My Son, James McAvoy plays Edmond Murray, a divorced man who wanted to prioritize his international career by abandoning his wife and son. But the day when her seven-year-old kidnapped, he decides to return to the Highlands and do everything to find him. Although his wife (Claire Foy) is resigned, he intends to go all the way to find those responsible.
This story will certainly tell you something. Indeed, My Son is the remake of the French film My boy with Guillaume Canet and Mélanie Laurent. The film was released in theaters in 2017 and directed by Christian Carion. It is precisely the latter who was responsible for directing the remake, always being accompanied by Laure Irrmann in the script. It’s always amazing to see a director come up with a remake of their own movie, but sometimes the result is relevant. The man who knew too much (1956) by Alfred Hitchcock is one of the best examples.
A gripping trailer
The film is revealed with a trailer (in an article) to say the least tense. The cold and humid atmosphere of the Highlands is perfect for this kind of thriller. Without revealing too much, the video promises a captivating film with a series of mysteries unveiled as the investigation conducted by Edmond. In addition, we are delighted to see James McAvoy and Claire Foy as a duet in this production. Two performers whose talent we already know well. The first with for example Split, the second with the Netflix series The Crown of which it was the revelation.
My Son will be released in cinemas November 3, 2021. Until then, you can discover the poster of the film below, offered by distributor Metropolitan Films:
