In “My Name” a woman tries to find out who her father’s killer is by infiltrating the police. Worn by Han So-hee, the series is available on Netflix from October 15.
The story of My Name
After the success of Squid Game, another Korean series could well be talked about on Netflix: My Name. Exit the deadly games, here it is aboutbloody revenge. After the murder of his father, Yoon Ji-woo, a member of a gang, wants revenge. For this, she will bind herself to a powerful boss of the underworld who tells her that her father was killed by a police officer. With his help she then goes infiltrate the police to learn more about this assassin.
Within the police, she is assigned to the drug investigation unit. As a mole, she will be able to warn her true allies of any police threat. But at the same time it will have to be sufficiently credible in its investigations. However, she must not arouse the suspicions of her teammate Jeon Pil-Do, who is very strict on the rules and who is wary of her.
The series therefore offers an interesting concept which is, in part, reminiscent of the excellent Hong Kong film. Infernal Affairs. In it, a policeman infiltrates a triad, while a member of this criminal group infiltrates the police. In My Name, infiltration is only one way. Nevertheless, as Yoon Ji-woo will have to work on all fronts, it could end up changing sides …
A physical role for Han So-hee
Directed by Kim Jin-min, My Name should bring some more light to Han So-hee. The Korean model is not in her first role and is already enjoying good popularity in South Korea. In particular, it was awarded in 2020 the Rookie of the Year Award for his role in The World of the Married, Korean remake of the British series Dr. Foster. For My Name, his physical performance should not go unnoticed. And we can imagine that if successful on Netflix, the actress could become even more popular.
Next to him are Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Hee-soon. The series is to discover on Netflix from October 15. Find the trailer here.
