This year’s 23rd issue of the »Weekly Shonen Jump« magazine announced that the shounen anime »My Hero Academia« will receive a two-part special.
Special will be released in the summer of 2022
The premiere of both episodes is scheduled for mid-June 2022 in Japanese cinemas. A short time later, during the summer of 2022, these will also be published online. Concrete details on the term or an exact date are still pending at the current time.
One of the two episodes is an original story about baseball-loving pro heroes who form the Hero League Baseball. This season, Gang Orca-led Orcas and Shishido-led Lionels vie for the top spot. Both teams are determined to win, so they call on UA’s students and their quirks for support.
The My Hero Academia franchise has so far consisted of 113 episodes in five seasons as well as three films and four OVAs. The publisher KAZÉ Anime secured the license for all previous anime productions and has already released the first four seasons on DVD and Blu-ray. A disc release of the fifth season, as well as the start of a sixth season, are announced for this year.
Izuku is a “normal”. Unfortunately, in a world where the majority of people are born with superhuman abilities, he has no innate “specialty” at all. Nevertheless, he would like to become a superhero and save other people – just like his great idol »All Might«, the most powerful of all superheroes. Izuku is lucky: All Might takes him under his wing and prepares Izuku for the super difficult entrance exam at the elite Hero Academy.
