Roland Emmerich is not the last to blow everything up in big-show movies. His next film, “Moonfall”, will continue to prove it. The Earth is threatened by the collapse of the Moon and the situation promises to be critical in the first trailer.
The moon collapses in Moonfall
In 1998, Bruce Willis and a shock team flew into space to destroy an asteroid that threatened to collide with Earth. 23 years later Armageddon, it is Halle Berry who is at the head of a perilous mission in the stars. Director Roland Emmerich enlisted the star to headline Moonfall, his new delirium with great spectacle which wants to impress. We know the guy and his cinema which does too much, as much to say that we do not hope for a moment of cinema full of finesse.
The frame will unfold nowadays, as a strange force moves the Moon out of its orbit around the Earth. Thus, our planet is threatened by an imminent collision. Humanity realizes the coming catastrophe and prepares for the end. NASA employee Jo Fowler will put in place a back-up plan to try to stop this dramatic situation. She will recruit an entire team with which she will fly into space to turn the tide. It is therefore in the hands of a few people that the fate of our dear blue planet will be.
Explosive first images
In addition to Halle Berry, Roland Emmerich went to look for a rather nice cast : Charlie Plummer, Patrick Wilson, Donald Sutherland, Michael Peña and John Bradley. All these beautiful people show themselves in the first trailer that has just been unveiled. Fans of refined cinema, go your way. Here, it stacks up the action scenes and the moments of bravery, always with a rather random sense of realism. The astonishing element that intrigues is the reason that caused the Moon to deviate. The pictures do not show too much on this point, in teasant some kind of alien threat difficult to describe.
You never expect much from a film by Roland Emmerich, and it’s the best way to be surprised in a good way. Moonfall at least seems to give us value for our money with a sense of the big show. The release is scheduled for February 9 in France, only in theaters.
