Capcom Co., Ltd. to be very precise, announced that its cross-platform game Monster Hunter: World has been “shipped” to over 20 million units worldwide (including versions of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition).
And it’s on the Capcom official website as we hear the news. The Japanese publisher explains to us that in recent years, the digital sales of its games have made it possible to make a nice leap forward in terms of sales.
Starting with a certain Monster Hunter World, released in January 2018. Thanks to this last one in particular, “Capcom was able to propel the Monster Hunter series to global brand status. With a first simultaneous worldwide launch of the series coupled with international promotional activities. Making the game Capcom’s best-selling title of all time, within a month of its releaseThe game has also won several awards around the world.
Monster Hunter World but not only
Now, therefore, more than three years after the game’s release, in addition to promoting digital sales, Capcom has also launched Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. A big expansion for the main game, but also a pack containing both titles. In doing so, the two combined have enabled Capcom to achieve 20 million units shipped.
Monster Hunter Rise is also part of the Monster Hunter series. It has sold a total of 7.5 million units on Nintendo Switch (as of September 24, 2021). This title will also arrive on PC (Steam) on January 13, 2022.
That’s not all, since Capcom specifies that it wants to develop the brand by actively promoting the series as a whole, in particular with Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a “massive premium” extension for this title, the launch of which is scheduled for summer 2022.
The editor concludes with this: “Capcom remains firmly committed to meeting the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities to create highly entertaining gaming experiences..” All is said.
