The famous house that hosted the adventures of Kevin MacCallister in the Chris Columbus film will soon be available for rent on the Airbnb site.
What could be more magical, with the approach of the Christmas holidays, than to spend a night in the mythical house of Kevin MacCallister, the legendary setting of the first Mum, I missed the plane that left in 1990?
As recently announced on the Twitter account of Airbnb, the rental site will soon offer fans to come and live in the famous residence (only for the night of December 12):
“Get ready to come celebrate the parties on America’s most boring street. Because the Eternal Home where Mom I Missed the Plane story began is officially available on Airbnb.”
According to CNN, the price of the reservation (not specified on Airbnb) would amount to only 25 dollars (or barely 22 euros). As long as you are among the lucky ones, you still have to go to the famous house, which is on the outskirts of Chicago, in the small town of Winnetka.
As for the announcement, as we can see by consulting the site Airbnb, it was written by Buzz MacCallister, Kevin’s big brother who is also making a small appearance in the new opus (available on Disney +):
“While we are on vacation (all together, this time around), I invite a team of troublemakers to let the children in them run free in my family home on December 12th.”, he wrote to future guests, recommending them all the same to stay out of his room and take good care of his tarantula.
As part of this event, Airbnb will make a financial donation to the Children’s Hospital of La Rabida in Chicago.
We just have to hope that Kevin did not leave one or two traps lying around the house …
