Despite its success with the public, the original French series “Mixte”, offered on Prime Video, will not have a season 2.
Winner of the Audience Award at the CANNESERIES Festival on October 8, the Mixed series will not have a second season. Actress Maud Wyler revealed the information on her Instagram account: “Jeanne Bellanger, it’s over. Prime Video will not make other seasons of Mixed. Well done to all the creators of this series.”
The disappointment is great on the side of the viewers. Many had been seduced by this return to the past, in 1963, in which the male students of the Lycée Voltaire welcomed girls into the establishment for the first time. Asked by a journalist from the editorial staff ofAlloCine, the producer Laurent Ceccaldi provides details:
“The whole team of Mixed is very disappointed with the non-renewal of the series because, apart from the critical success, we felt that the series had been enjoyed by very large numbers and that Season 2 was eagerly awaited. We are also very frustrated because we have not been informed of the audience figures and the objectives that Amazon had set, which remain confidential for the moment. Anyway, we are very proud to have produced Mixte which is arguably one of the best French platform series to date.“
Soon, the Amazon Prime Video platform will launch its new original French series, Totems, with Niels Schneider and Ana Girardot. The story of a French scientist hired to become a spy in the middle of the Cold War. Another ambitious production, presented in competition during the last edition of CANNESERIES.
