Launched in his race against time and currently undisputed boss of the great Hollywood show, Tom Cruise has just celebrated his 60th birthday in England, where he is currently working on “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2”. To celebrate the superstar, Christopher McQuarrie posted a stunning first image from the set.
Tom Cruise, the upside down man
Tom Cruise turned 60 on July 3, 2022, and the Hollywood superstar actor, producer and stuntman is currently at a new high in his career. With Top Gun : Maverickacclaimed by critics and accumulating more than$1.1 billion at the box office, it is experiencing unprecedented popularity and success. That’s a fact : Tom Cruise refuses to grow old. And pushes the sliders a little further with each new production.
It is to pay tribute to its illustrious partner on Jack Reacher and the saga Impossible mission that director Christopher McQuarrie posted an image of the next Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Twoexpected for 2024. An obviously aerial photograph, and obviously a crazy waterfall. A perfectly “Cruisienne” image therefore, accompanied with the simplicity of the message: “Happy 60 years, Tom.” Simple, and dizzying.
From rehearsal to cascade
In this image, Tom Cruise hangs from the wings of a Boeing-Stearman Model 75 biplane. The aircraft, a famous model from the Second World War, is launched in a barrel. An impressive image that will be at the heart of an action sequence of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Party 2, which we can already dream of being out of the ordinary. Indeed, in view of the trailer of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, which already reveals images to break the body and the brainits sequel should logically do even more.
We had been able to lay our eyes on the preparation of this stunt this winter. The actor had indeed been photographed on another version of the same plane in full rehearsal. Some time ago, a video showed Tom Cruise at the controls of the plane which seems to be the one we now discover in the photograph of Christopher McQuarrie.
In the photograph by Christopher McQuarrie, we can see a shooting device on the tail of the aircraft. And the actor seems to him in costume. This image can thus be seen as likely the very first photograph from the set of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2. So after Top Gun : Maverickit’s dizzying to imagine how far Tom Cruise will take us in these next two M:I films…
