Decidedly, comedian Tom Cruise is unlucky with his films. Paramount has just announced that “Mission Impossible 7” and “Top Gun: Maverick” are again postponed to 2022.
Tom Cruise: the actor is everywhere
Tom Cruise continues to be as bankable as ever. The American actor and producer connects the projects with disconcerting efficiency. Franchise Star Impossible mission, he is working on the seventh opus of the saga, currently being filmed edited by Christopher McQuarrie. Lately, his fans have been able to see him in Barry seal, Mission Impossible: Fallout, or the disappointing one The Mummy. But other projects are coming for Tom Cruise. In addition to the next two parts of the saga Impossible mission, the actor will also be featured in Top Gun: Maverick, which is wisely waiting to see the light of day. We are also talking about a Edge of Tomorrow 2.
But his craziest project is certainly his trip to space. Indeed, the actor will go to the ISS, the international space station with director Doug Liman to shoot the first fiction film directly in space. A totally crazy project, which does not yet have a name. Tom Cruise, Doug Liman and a third individual will launch into space next December.
Two delayed films
Unfortunately for Tom Cruise, two of his future films have just been postponed. Indeed, as reported Deadline, Paramount preferred to shift the outputs of Mission Impossible 7 and of Top Gun: Maverick. The seventh opus of Impossible mission will therefore see the light of day on September 30, 2022, while the continuation of Top Gun will be released on May 27, 2022, just in time for Memorial Day. Mission Impossible 7 was originally scheduled for May 27, 2022 while Top Gun: Maverick was due out on November 19. Thereby, Top Gun: Maverick takes the place of MI7.
Without surprise, Paramount justifies these changes by the COVID-19 crisis. Deadline reports an increase in cases and the arrival of several variants that worry film studios, who do not know when to release their films, being afraid of a new closure of theaters.

Once again, Mission Impossible 7 is currently filming. We therefore do not know much about the plot. However, Top Gun: Maverick is long over and just waiting for a time slot to see the light of day. This suite, 35 years after the original, is directed by Joseph Kosinski and will obviously see Tom Cruise returns as Maverick. The rest of the cast is made up of Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris and Jon Hamm. Also note the return of Val Kilmer as Iceman ! This new episode tells how Maverick refuses to rise in rank to continue flying. He then embarked on the training of young graduates for a very special mission, which obviously did not go as planned.
In the meantime, the filming of Mission Impossible 7 is going very well since the film crew does not hesitate to destroy a locomotive launched at full speed. Once again Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise want to offer viewers the maximum feeling in the action sequences. A normal day in the world of Impossible mission…
