In this process, important names from the Swing Planet Istanbul team accompanied the documentary team. Thanks to this large participation, a different and more dynamic work emerged than the documentary approach that has been put forward so far.
A LIVING MUSEUM OF POSTER CULTURE
Although the documentary was conceived as a feature-length work, it seems that it will evolve into comprehensive studies on collection dynamics. Aiming to produce small documentaries from the mutual interviews they had made with names such as İbrahim Enez, Şahin Karakoç, Ömer Muz, Erol Ağakay and Kunt Tulgar, the team also included the sections of the interviews with other names in the documentary, “Retroville” opened by Fatih Yurr. He plans to feature it on his Youtube channel named after him.
In addition, Fatih Yurr completed the compilation last year, in which he deciphered the interviews he had with all the names in the documentary and shaped it on the axis of an academic study on the development of poster culture in Turkey and the world. In short, this compilation is waiting to be published, albeit in limited numbers, by a publishing house that might want to claim this memory legacy.
THE JOURNEY ENDS NOW!
The documentary, which had the chance to be screened in many festivals abroad during the pandemic process, thought that it would be pointless to wait any longer to work after an already quite long and grueling post-production phase, due to the extremely cumbersome process of negotiations for broadcasting on various platforms and the suspension of general screenings, He found it convenient to publish it for free on Youtube.
