George RR Martin did not write that “Game of Thrones”. The proof, with an upcoming adaptation of one of his short stories: “In the lost lands”, part of the cast of which is already known.
George RR Martin: the novelist-star
The 20th century loved JRR Tolkien, the 21st century loves George RR Martin. Indeed, as the author of Lord of the Ringsthe American novelist also knew how to mark lovers ofheroic fantasy with a major work: The iron Throne. The series of books which was born in 1996, knew a television adaptation who considerably marked the history of the series between 2011 and 2019. This thus made George RR Martin one of the wealthiest and most influential novelists of his day.
Currently, the artist is involved in the production ofHouse of the Dragontelevision spin-off of Game of Thrones. At the same time, he tries somehow to finish The Winds of Winterpenultimate volume of his famous literary saga.
Two star cast
In 1982, George RR Martin published a short story entitled In the lost lands. The work follows a queen whose goal is to obtain the gift of shapeshifting. To do this, she turns to the witch Gray Alys, able to grant all possible wishes. The latter is then sent to the lost lands, in the company of a vagrant named Boyce.
As in Game of Thrones, we should therefore be entitled to magic and fantastic creatures. On the side of the realization of this film adaptation, we find Paul WS Anderson who distinguished himself for the little best and especially the worst of the film saga resident Evil. And who says Paul WS Anderson necessarily says his wife Milla Jovovich, who will also be there and who will play the famous witch. She will collaborate with another big star: Dave Bautista, who needs no introduction since he revealed himself to the general public in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Asked by Varietythe much criticized director gave some information on this adaptation of the work of George R. R Martin:
We start filming on November 14, so I’m actively involved in the preparation of the film at the moment. It’s Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista who are going to be amazing. Seeing them go head-to-head is just going to be fabulous. (…) It’s an adaptation of a story by George RR Martin, so you know it’s going to be dark and twisted and have wonderful characters. Because that’s what George does.
We will have to wait a little longer before knowing the rest of the cast as well as the release date of the adaptation of In the lost lands.
