Will Michael Mann finally complete his project on Enzo Ferrari? We hope so. In any case, the production could move forward with the arrival in the cast of Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, and Shailene Woodley.
An old project for Michael Mann
It’s been a long time since Michael Mann has a project around Ferrari in its pipeline. More particularly on Enzo Ferrari, racing driver and founder in 1929 of the famous racing team. This idea of a biopic was mentioned many years ago. It was believed that it would finally move forward in 2020 with the possible presence of Hugh Jackman in the casting. But ultimately nothing. We even thought that the case was forgotten after Le Mans 66 of James Mangold on which he officiated as producer.
Fortunately for fans of the director of Heat and Ali, Deadline gives us good news. The American media has just announced that the “Ferrari” project was again about to be done with, in particular, a beautiful cast.
Ferrari changes face
Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz, and Shailene Woodley would indeed be about to sign to shoot in the biopic. Names which inevitably should help to really launch the production. The actor would thus interpret Enzo Ferrari, while the actresses would play respectively his wife Laura, and his mistress Lina Lardi. Additionally, production is expected to begin in May in Italy.
Penelope Cruz, Adam Driver, and Shailene Woodley
Finally, while Amazon is still associated with the project, Michael Mann was very enthusiastic about the idea of directing such a cast.
To be able to have these talented artists, actors Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz and Shailene Woodley, and to be able to bring these unique characters to life in Modena and the Emilia-Romagna region, gives a complete vision.
A more than encouraging statement. Because given that the project has often been postponed, we are still starting to take the various announcements with a grain of salt. This time, it seems to be confirmed all the same. Michael Mann will finally direct a new movie after a hacker (2015). In the meantime, remember that there will be the series Tokyo vice of which he directed the pilot episode.
