It was only a matter of time before the trailer for “Matrix Resurrections” finally unveiled. The film is due out in mid-December and the promotion hadn’t even started yet. As the trailer approaches, the first images have arrived.
Matrix Resurrections : Neo is back
That a new feature film Matrix sees the light of day is something we expected as the third episode of the trilogy had suggested that Neo could make a comeback. However, what surprises most is the waiting time. Many years after this conclusion, Lana Wachowski returns without her sister to Matrix Resurrections. Some of the original cast will be there, especially Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. Jada Pinkett Smith and Lambert Wilson will do the same, as an army of recruits join the universe: Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Henwick, Ellen Hollman, Christina Ricci and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, to recite nobody else but them.
The scenario was intentionally hidden, so we still don’t know what to expect. The only certainty is that it will be a question of the return of the Chosen One December 15th
Full of first images (while waiting for the trailer)
A trailer was offered to attendees of the last CinemaCon. However, for the general public, it is the September 9 that it will be visible. To prepare for his arrival, the site WhatIsTheMatrix.com was launched. By going over it, it is possible to choose between the red pill and the blue one. Your choice will give you access to a different teaser. In addition to this little originality in the promotion, we especially appreciate being able to finally lay eyes on this Matrix Resurrections. Several exclusive images are unveiled and we can already get an idea of the artistic approach.
Neo is therefore back, with long hair a la John Wick. It is indeed indicated in several planes and, in general, these glimpses multiply reminders of mythology. Whether it is with the two pills, the sentries, the combat plan in the dojo or the one with Jonathan Groff with a misshapen mouth, we can see that this fourth part is part of the continuity.
The main trio will not be reformed since Laurence Fishburne was not summoned. However, it could be question of Morpheus with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who seems to embody the character in a younger version. However, we are waiting for the trailer firmly to obtain information on his identity. If his return is confirmed, we hope that the explanation will be up to the task.
