A few days before the release of “Matrix Resurrections”, Warner Bros. has just released a brand new teaser. New images which strongly support the notion of nostalgia and which refer to the first trilogy.
Matrix Resurrections : new opus
Expected on December 22, Matrix Resurrections will mark the big comeback of Keanu Reeves as Neo. Directed by Lana Washowski, the feature film will offer a late sequel to the cult trilogy that was Matrix. In addition to the return of Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss will also be there, ready to return in the role of Trinity. The rest of the cast consists in particular of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who succeeds Laurence Fishburne in the skin of Morpheus, Jada Pinkett Smith or even Neil Patrick Harris.
This new episode takes place 20 years after the events of Matrix Revolutions. Neo, like Trinity, have no recollection of their past, and appear to be living a normal existence in the Matrix. However, when Neo crosses paths with Morpheus, his memories start to come back to him. The protagonist will then have to reunite the fragments of his past, helped by the irreplaceable Trinity.
A new teaser that taps into nostalgia
Warner Bros just shared a new teaser of Matrix Resurrections. A short video that offers an interesting parallel between the images of this new film and some sequences of the original trilogy. So this short trailer wants to focus on the nostalgic aspect of the work, which will once again rush into the common places of the saga. A clever trailer that also highlights the spirit of Neo, who tries to remember his old life as a rebel against the machines. This last video therefore confirms that Matrix Resurrections will not go back in time, but will tell more about Neo’s awakening, and his awareness regarding the Matrix. This new trailer also gives the first glimpse of Lambert Wilson back in the skin of the Merovingian, last seen in Matrix Revolutions. See you on December 22 to find all these beautiful people.
