New images of Matrix Resurrections reveal some new elements of this 4th opus, some of which will give you a feeling of déjà vu.

“The feeling of Deja-vu can come from a bug in the Matrix, it happens when they modify it”, said Trinity in The Matrix as Neo was surprised to see a black cat pass twice. In a new one-minute trailer, the 4th opus reuses this famous line, summoning the craziest sequences of the first part (and the black cat is also back from the first seconds).
These images play with the feeling of “déjà vu”, superimposing excerpts from old films with those from Resurrections, fueling even more the mystery surrounding its plot. If Neo and Trinity are back in the guise of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, Morpheus has changed his face.
We therefore see the latter camped by Laurence Fishburne in the original trilogy turn into Yahya Abdul Mateen II in this 4th part. We also see the new version of the Merovingian, with a full beard and a hairstyle more disheveled than Lambert Wilson.
The famous scene where Neo’s mouth disappears in front of Agent Smith is also repeated. This time, it is the character played by Jonathan Groff who is muzzled. The only thing that can be said with almost certainty is that Trinity and Neo won’t remember being in the Matrix at the start of the story.
How are they going to get out of it? Will Morpheus again offer them the choice between the blue pill and the red pill? Answer on December 22 at the cinema. In any case, the editing of this trailer, while interlocking, suggests that “déjà vu” will be at the center of the plot.
Director Lana Wachowski has also specified that this feature film will work independently from the original trilogy. “You will have to cross the mirror to understand the film”, she said cryptically into the microphone ofEntertainment Weekly.
