Nicolas Bedos’ new film, “Mascarade”, is presented out of competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The opportunity to unveil the teaser for the film which will be released on November 1 in cinemas.

With MasqueradeNicolas Bedos signs his fourth feature film as a director. Overflowing with inventiveness, he films his new story on the Côte d’Azur, with a very large cast: Pierre Niney, Isabelle Adjani, François Cluzet, Marine Vacth or even Emmanuelle Devos. After his first steps as a screenwriter in the world of cinema, Nicolas Bedos quickly became one of France’s leading directors. First, thanks to Mr & Mrs Adelman released in 2017. Then to the very nostalgic The good times (2019), featuring Daniel Auteuil reliving the encounter with his great love.
With The good timeshe climbs the steps of the Cannes film festival out of competition. Something he reiterates, in 2021, at the end of the festival with OSS 117: Red alert in black Africa. A year later, he returned to the Croisette (still out of competition) to present the dramatic comedy Masquerade.
Pierre Niney, summer mode activated
Here is its synopsis: Adrien, an attractive dancer whose career was shattered by a motorcycle accident, squanders his youth in the idleness of the Côte d’Azur, maintained by Martha, a former glory of the cinema. His life changes when he meets Margot, a fascinating creature who lives off scams and amorous manipulations. Together, they will fantasize about a better life and set up a diabolical scheme, a sentimental masquerade.
At the heart of this plot filmed in the South of France, Pierre Niney plays Adrien. The actor has already collaborated with Nicolas Bedos for the last part of OSS 117and now becomes the leading role.
After a great year 2021, nominated for the César for best actor in Black Box, the young actor continues his ascent. Indeed, this year, he played alongside his friend Gilles Lellouche and Emmanuelle Bercot for the film Goliath. A serious performance, the antithesis of his hilarious role of Doctor Juiphe in The flame. He also takes up this character in the new season. The Torch: Adventurers of Chupacabra (out May 23).
This Friday, he will climb the steps of Cannes to Masquerade. The film will then arrive in French cinemas on November 1, 2022.
