Marvel: towards a new Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland? – Cinema News

Will Spider-Man No Way Home mark Tom Holland’s last appearance as Weaver? Producer Amy Pascal responds!

As Spider-Man No Way Home prepares to land in our lands on December 15, Marvel is already looking to the future. Tom Holland donned the Weaver costume in 2017 and has just completed his trilogy. Will the comedian continue to fight supervillains within the MCU?

According to producer Amy Pascal, the 25-year-old Briton is not done with Spider-Man. In an interview for Fandango, she confirms that Tom Holland will remain Spider-Man for another 3 feature films.

We’re getting ready to do the next Spider-Man with Tom Holland and Marvel.

“This isn’t the last movie we’re going to do with Marvel and it’s not the last Spider-Man. We’re getting ready to do the next Spidey with Tom Holland and Marvel. There have been three movies, and now we will focus on the next three. This is not the last of our MCU films. Marvel and Sony will continue to collaborate as partners “, she asserted.

The producer does not however specify if Peter Parker will be the main character of this new trilogy. Another version of the Weaver may well be the focus of these films. Why not Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen for example? It’s also unclear whether Tom Holland will appear in future Venom or Morbius feature films, extending his adventure in Spidey’s tights.

The actor, whose contract is supposed to end after No Way Home, is surely in the process of negotiating the rest of his MCU participation. He had recently confided in GQ on this subject: “If I play Spider-Man after I turn 30, it’s because I screwed up”, he said. That leaves him another good 5 years fighting villains in the Marvel Universe. However, he doesn’t plan on getting trapped in the role of Spider-Man.

“The last six years of my life has kind of been planned, since I was under contract. I believe for the next five or ten years of my career, I’m only going to do what I want, when I want to. And then you know, for the past few years I’ve been wondering: is acting really what I want to do?

Do I want to be an actor for the rest of my life? I really enjoy being an actor, but the beauty of this job is that I can put it aside for ten, twenty or thirty years … and then start playing again. Maybe I want to be a father and raise children … I don’t know what I want to do “, confessed Tom Holland at the microphone of First.

Spider-Man No Way Home hits theaters on December 15th.
