Comedian Tom Holland alluded to Miles Morales arriving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He even has a rather effective idea to justify his arrival in the Marvel universe and thus replace it.
Soon Miles Morales debut in the MCU?
Tom Holland has played Peter Parker in the MCU for Captain America: Civil War. The output of Spider-Man: No Way Home December 15 will mark her sixth appearance in the role. At present, it is not yet known whether Tom Holland will return in the future as Peter Parker or if Jon Watts’ film will mark his last appearance in the role. In a recent interview with GQ, the comedian said that:
It might be time for me to move on. Perhaps the best thing for Spider-Man is to introduce Miles Morales.
Even if Miles Morales may already be in the MCU without us knowing, we will have to tell his story and introduce it properly if we want him to be the new face of Spider-Man. Plus, the idea of replacing Peter Parker with Miles Morales isn’t stupid at all, and could even help plug holes in the MCU.
Who is this new Spider-Man?
In the comics, Miles Morales was invented in 2011 by Brian M Bendis and Sara Pichelli. Initially, this new Spider-Man stems from the Ultimate Universe, an alternate universe to the classic continuity of the Marvel Universe. From Earth-1610, he joins Earth-616 (the “classic” Earth) at the end of the huge crossover Secret Wars. Since then, this new weaver has grown in importance and has become a central figure in recent years. To the extent that Miles Morales was the hero of his own film titled Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Released in 2018, the feature film proved to be a huge critical and popular success. The film even won Oscar for Best Animated Feature and brought back more than $ 375 million in revenue at the box office (for a budget of $ 90 million). But the feature film, produced by Sony, remains outside the MCU.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character has never been openly introduced. Yet Jon Watts referred to it in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Indeed, the 2017 film saw the appearance of Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover. This character, known to have been one of the many Rangers, is also Miles Morales’ uncle. There was even a deleted scene from the movie that featured Aaron Davis on the phone with his nephew. So, there’s clearly an easy-to-take opening to introduce Miles Morales into the MCU.
After Thanos wiped out half the planet in Avengers: Infinity War, Peter Parker went up in smoke like many of his peers. Thus, for 5 years, New York has been left without spider-man to protect her, before Smart Hulk brings everyone back in Avengers: Endgame. A good time to develop the character of Miles Morales. The latter could very well become the neighborhood weaver during Spider-Man’s disappearance, and create your own reputation. If Tom Holland hangs up the Spider-Man costume, he’s going to have to think about the character’s legacy anyway, and the Miles Morales option is perhaps the best one to consider. In the meantime, Peter Parker is back on December 15th:
