Good news for fans of Magic Mike and his dream abs! The hero will be back in a third installment, still directed by Steven Soderbergh. It was Channing Tatum who confirmed the information on social networks.
It has been 6 years since we last saw Channing Tatum on screen doing the show on stage. But good news: the 41-year-old actor will slip into Magic Mike’s costumes again since Warner Bros. is currently working on a third installment, which is currently called Magic Mike’s Last Dance.
Steven Soderbergh will be back behind the camera, with a script signed again by Reid Carolin – if we are to believe the comedian’s latest post on Twitter:
While it is not yet clear which actors will be returning (Matt Bomer? Joe Manganiello?), The announcements should be made within the next year.
On the other hand, change of size concerning this new version since according to American media, Magic Mike 3 will not be released in theaters but directly on the HBO Max platform. An astonishing choice knowing that the two previous components had both exceeded 100 million dollars of receipts for budgets ranging from 5 to 15 million greenbacks.
It remains to be seen what the studio’s strategy will be in countries where the platform is not yet established, such as France. A room exit or a buyout by another platform?
