Mafia: Good and bad news for the license

Mafia celebrates its 20th anniversary at the end of August 2022 and on this occasion, the general manager of Hangar 13, Roman Hladík took part in a session questions and answers. The occasion in particular to approach the subject of a new game, and more generally to make teasing.

Mafia in development, yes but…

I am happy to confirm that we have started working on a brand new Mafia project. ! While it will be a few more years before we can share more, we are truly excited to continue working on this beloved franchise and entertaining our players with new stories.

The good news is that a new game is officially in the works. The bad news is that he will have to wait several years before you can touch it. According to information from Kotaku the game would take place before Mafia 1 at the very end of the 19th century with a whole part in Sicily. The game would benefit from the graphics engine Unreal Engine 5 and would be more linear with a much less open world than what we had known before.

In short, a very specific turning point for the Mafia saga would only be its distance from America to focus on Italian sources.
