Mad Max Furiosa: Tom Hardy very happy to pass on the torch

Mad Max Fury Road prequel Furiosa is currently filming in Australia. Tom Hardy, interpreter of the mythical character, recently returned to his experience on the film and his passing of the torch with Furiosa.

Released in May 2015, Mad Max Fury Road made an impression, notably attracting 2.3 million spectators in France. Tom Hardy succeeded Mel Gibson as the legendary Max Rockatansky, teaming up with Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron.

This character was very successful, literally stealing the show from Tom Hardy. Director George Miller therefore decided in 2019 to dedicate a film to Furiosa. More precisely, the filmmaker will tell us about the youth of the heroine. The latter will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who therefore succeeds Charlize Theron.

The intrigue will therefore follow the young woman before she puts herself at the service of Immortan Joe, the big bad of Fury Road. It wouldn’t be surprising to find out in what circumstances she lost her left arm. Note that Chris Hemsworth will also be there.

TOM HARDY APPROVES THE PROJECT

In full promo for Venom 2, Tom Hardy returned to his experience in Fury Road, ensuring that it was absolutely not bitter to be passed into the background.

“It was finally the Furiosa movie. Which was fantastic. Fury Road. Furiosa. It was in the title. If you watch it now, it was a passing of the torch of sorts, from Mad Max to Furiosa.” , explains the actor.

It’s still George Miller’s Mad Max, but he splits his energy between two characters, and that’s really cool.

“That’s what they’re filming now. Furiosa. It was a very well executed relief. It’s still George Miller’s Mad Max, but he divides his energy between two characters, and it’s really very. cool”, underlines the British actor at the microphone of Esquire.

The shooting of Furiosa therefore began in August in Australia, with an Anya Taylor-Joy “very excited to be doing something physical.” “To transform myself physically, strangely, that calms me a lot”, she confided last June in the columns of Variety. You will have to be a little patient to discover the film at the cinema. It will land on June 21, 2023 in our regions.

The Netflix star of The Lady’s Game, revealed in The Witch, will also star in Edgar Wrigt’s Last Night In Soho, in theaters on October 27. As for Tom Hardy, we will find him in Venom 2, scheduled for October 20.
