Two major stars meet in Netflix series
Lucy Liu is the latest addition to the cast of Netflix’s upcoming mini-series “A Man in Full.” Liu stars alongside previously announced lead roles Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane, as well as William Jackson Harperconsisting of Aml Ameen, Tom Pelphrey, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams He will appear in the series with the cast.
The series is based on Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name. David E. Kelley is directing and executive producing the project with Regina King. in the show, Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker (Daniels) faces sudden bankruptcy. Political and business interests clash as Charlie defends his empire from those who seek to profit from its disgrace. Liu plays Joyce Newman, the founder of a successful beauty company. Joyce struggles with a crisis that threatens to undo her friendships and business ventures.
Liu previously starred in the Paramount+ drama “Why Women Kill”, the CBS drama “Elementary” and the Fox drama “Ally McBeal.” Furthermore, he is known for his work in movies like “Kill Bill”, “Charlie’s Angels” series, “Chicago” and Netflix movie “Set It Up”. “A Man in Full” has received orders for six one-hour episodes on Netflix. Kelley serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the series.
King will direct and executive produce three episodes under the Royal Ties Productions name. Matthew Tinker of Reina King of Royal Ties and David E. Kelley Productions will also executive produce with Thomas Schlamme. Royal Ties is currently under a first look deal with Netflix and this project is being prepared under that deal.
