Performed by Hunter Tylo from 1990 to 2019, Taylor will soon make her comeback in “Love, Glory and Beauty” in the United States, after more than two years of absence. But the character will have a new face: that of actress Krista Allen.
Soaps are customary for changes of performers for the same character, but fans of Love, Glory and Beauty were certainly not prepared for the announcement of the return of an iconic heroine from the soap opera … in the guise of ‘a new actress!
Portrayed by Hunter Tylo from 1990 to 2019, Taylor, who set the scene for nearly three decades through an iconic love triangle with Ridge and Brooke, will make her comeback in Love, Glory and Beauty on December 10 in the United States on CBS, now played by Krista Allen, who succeeds the original interpreter of the character according to Entertainment Weekly.
Seen in the cinema in Final Destination 4, Allen has multiplied the secondary roles on television since the end of the 90s. She has notably participated in series such as Alerte à Malibu, Les Experts, Smallville, Friends, Mistresses, or Mon uncle Charlie . And this is not her first attempt in the world of soaps since she played Billie Reed in Days and Lives between 1996 and 1999.
Hunter Tylo made his last appearance in Love, Glory and Beauty in 2019. Taylor’s absence was then justified by the character’s departure abroad in order to do humanitarian work. Also according to EW, the production would have contacted the actress to resume her role, in vain.
It remains to be seen what will bring Taylor back to Los Angeles after two years of absence. But one thing is certain: it will not be long before she reunites with her daughter and her ex since the first scenes that Krista Allen will shoot on October 28 will be with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge).
A return that French viewers, who follow the soap opera on France 2 every day, will have to wait a bit before discovering since the broadcast of Love, Glory and Beauty has, with us, two years behind the United States.
