As well as being the first Yakuza / Judgment to have a simultaneous global release, Lost Judgment is part of the new generation of games from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio that are releasing on multiple platforms at the same time. Are these titles still mostly played by PlayStation players? The latest sales ranking from the United Kingdom gives a first answer to this subject.
We now know if Lost judgment has achieved best sales on PS5, PS4 or Xbox consoles in the UK. Indeed, the British charts for the week which ended on September 25th have just been communicated. And these were accompanied by the details of sales by platform of Lost Judgment.
So it appears that the PS5 version was by far the best-selling version when Lost Judgment launched in the UK. The latter represents 62% of sales of the game. It is followed by the PS4 version with 28% of sales. The version intended for the various Xbox consoles thus completes the trio with 10% of the sales of Lost Judgment. The PlayStation versions of the game from SEGA thus account for 90% of its sales in the United Kingdom.
Note at the same time that the news is generally encouraging for the latest title from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Indeed, its sales across all platforms allow it to finish in fourth place in the UK charts.
Good sales over time?
For its launch week, it finishes behind three Switch games: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. On the other hand, it is ahead of Deathloop, a title which had finished in first place a week earlier.
It remains to be seen if the new adventures of Takayuki Yagami manage to survive across the Channel. As well as to reach the first places of the rankings in other territories. In Japan for example, it will be interesting to see if Lost Judgment does better on PS5 than on PS4. The PS5 has already exceeded one million consoles sold in the Japanese archipelago. But its games sell very poorly. To be continued.
