Interpreted by Sylvester McCoy in the saga of Peter Jackson, the magician Radagast the Brown, friend of animals, has been able to confuse more than one. Indeed, while he was rather supposed to appear in the first part of The Lord of the Rings – it was he who organized Gandalf’s escape when the latter was prisoner of Saruman in Tolkien’s work – he strangely holds a place choice in the Hobbit trilogy (whereas the original book only mentioned it in a conversation).
His presence in the first part, moreover, would undoubtedly have been a little better received if he had not taken it into his head to take care of an adorable hedgehog called … Sebastien. A name that was particularly unexpected in Middle-earth, and which took us out of the film for a moment, it must be said.
