Netflix will put Locke and Key season 2 online tomorrow. On this occasion, DashFUN gives you a little summary of the previous episodes and reveals what awaits you in this sequel.
Previously on Locke and Key
After their father’s murder under strange circumstances, the Locke siblings move in with their mother to Keyhouse, their ancestral home, where they discover magical keys potentially linked to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the unique powers of these keys, a mysterious demon awakens …
Echo or Dodge (Laysla de Oliveira) of his real name, has only one idea in mind: to get his hands on all the keys, even if it means harming a person or two. When the Locke siblings find out what’s on their mind, they’ll try to get rid of it.
In the last episode of season 1, they therefore go to the caves of Drowning where the Black Door is located, a passage to the world of demons. Once opened, they hasten to send Dodge there. But when closing the door, Eden is hit by a luminous explosion …
The Locke then think they have got rid of their formidable enemy but we discover afterwards that the young woman took the appearance of Gabe earlier in the day thanks to a key and that it is Ellie – the gym teacher played by Sherri Saum – whom they sent to the other side. As for Eden, she is now controlled by a demon …
What to expect in season 2
Season 2 will explore a bit more of the history of the Keys and their mythology. This origin story which promises to be fascinating will take us on a journey to the 18th century, in the midst of the War of Independence. It will allow the introduction of a new character, played by Kevin Durand that we quickly see in the trailer.
More generally, new keys should appear in these new episodes. In the comics, there is notably a key that makes you giant, a key that allows you to fly, another that gives you superhuman strength, the shape of an animal and even a key that allows you to go to the Moon … We do not yet know which will appear in season 2 but we can not wait to find out.
According to Decider who had access to the episodes in preview (unlike the author of these lines), season 2 of Locke and Key will be scarier than the previous one – perfect this Halloween season. The Lockes will be in greater danger than ever as they continue to uncover keys and their powers. It must also be said that time is against them. Remember: adults cannot see the magic of the keys. As Tyler (Connor Jessup) approaches his 18th birthday, he will soon forget their existence.
In addition to Kevin Durand, this season 2 of Locke and Key will also welcome Brendan Hines (Lie To Me) in a role still kept secret and Liyou Abere (The Boys) as a guest. As for Aaron Ashmore and Hallea Jones (Eden), they have both been promoted to regular roles. The first should also come and settle in the Locke home to help the children and a still bereaved Nina.
