After “Killers of the Flower Moon”, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will continue to collaborate together and with Apple for the adaptation of the novel “The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder”.
Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio: sixth!
Apple has hit very hard lately by offering neither more nor less than the next film by Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon. A film all the more awaited as it will be carried by Leonardo DiCaprio, which he has already directed on numerous occasions. First in 2003 with Gangs of New Yorkbefore having him play Howard Hughes in Airman (2005). Subsequently, Scorsese toured with him Infiltrators (2006), then Shutter Island (2010), and finally The wolf of Wall Street (2013).

It is therefore ten years after this last film that the duo is reforming. In Killers of the Flower MoonScorsese will tell the true story of the murders of several members of the Osage Indian tribe in Oklahoma, murdered after finding oil on their land In the 1920’s. An investigation will then be carried out by the FBI. Although the shooting of the film is finished, we will not be able to not find out before 2023. The feature film could be presented at the Cannes Film Festival next May before being put online on the Apple TV+ platform some months later. Elements that had been announced by Deadlinewhich remain to be confirmed.
And soon seven with The Wager
We learn today, always by Deadlinethat Apple has also reached an agreement with Martin Scorsese for another movie project again with Leonardo DiCaprio in the cast. A triple collaboration which shows that the streaming service is not to be taken lightly.
This next feature will be an adaptation of the novel The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder by David Grann. This time the film will take place in the 1740s when the Wager, a British navy ship, is shipwrecked on an island off the coast of South America. The captain will have to do everything to survive with his crew in the face of extreme elements and to maintain order. A project that promises to be ambitious for Scorsese who, at almost 80 years old, is clearly not decided to retire.
