There aren’t many of them, but they do exist – those film series that really everyone knows. Whether old or young, cinema subscription owner or film muffle: “Star Wars’, ‘Indiana Jones’ or ‘The Lord of the Rings’, for example, are so incredibly popular that you can hardly avoid them. “Back to the Future” is also one of those pop culture phenomena that everyone should have seen once in their lives. And for all those who have Marty McFly’s time travel adventures on their watch list – whether they have never seen it or have seen it a hundred times – here’s some really good news:
“Back to the Future”, “Back to the Future II” and “Back to the Future III” are now included in the subscription to Amazon Prime Video. So if you’re still looking for material for your weekend movie night anyway, you can’t go wrong.

However, if you are more drawn to the cinema and you would rather get in the Halloween spirit anyway, a visit to the cinema is worthwhile. Or two. Because with “Smile – do you see it too?” and “Halloween EndsTwo really strong horror films await you right away – which, however, faced tremendous competition at the box office yesterday:
“Back to the Future”, on the other hand, doesn’t need to hide from its competitors, even after more than 35 years. In the meantime, a lot of films have been made that also skilfully play with the concept of time and time travel – from “Looper” and “Edge Of Tomorrow” to “Déjà Vu” and “Tenet”. As charming and light-footed as when master director Robert Zemeckis sends his chaotic duo Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) across time, it never gets down to business.
At this point we will save ourselves from going into too much detail why it takes exactly 1.21 gigawatts to jump through time, why Marty McFly is actually Calvin Klein and why you should definitely give up sports betting. For all those who just can’t do anything with this potpourri of information, we have the trailer for the often cited cult classic here. Just take a look, let yourself be enchanted and see the rest on Amazon:
If you already know “Back to the Future” inside out and don’t feel like taking the umpteenth trip to Hill Valley right now, the discussion about whether the films are just as brilliant today as they were then might arouse your interest. In the DashFUN podcast on the screen love, presenter Sebastian, Yves from Moviepilot and our former editor Tobias talked about whether “Back to the Future” actually withstood the test of time. And the answer isn’t as clear as you might think…
For the author of this article, however, there are no two opinions in this case. While he never did anything with “Star Wars” could start and “Indiana Jones” and “The Lord of the Rings” only fell in love after watching them several times, for him “Back to the Future” is one of the ultimate blockbuster classics that just keep going – and in home cinema, completely deserve a special place according to the motto “More is more!”:
