By opening a official site became today knownthat the manga series »Lady Oscar – The Rose of Versailles« (jap.: »Versailles no Bara«) gets a new anime film. You can see a teaser and a visual for it later in this article.

Concrete details about the new anime film, such as a start date in Japanese cinemas or those involved in the production, are not yet known at the current time. We will of course keep you informed as soon as we have new information.
The first anime adaptation, a 40-episode series by studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha, aired in Japan between October 1979 and September 1980. Publisher KSM Anime will release it on Blu-ray on November 17, 2022 with German and Japanese soundtracks.
The original manga was penned by Riyoko Ikeda and was published in the Shoujo magazine »Margaret« between 1972 and 1973. The publisher Shueisha published the completed series in a total of ten volumes in Japanese trade.
